Zelenskyy Urgently Appeals to President Trump: Unveil Your Rapid Peace Strategy for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is urging former U.S. President Donald Trump to disclose his long-awaited plan for ending Russia’s war in Ukraine within 24 hours. Zelenskyy made the plea during an interview with CNN, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need to prevent further loss of lives.

According to a translation provided by CNN, Zelenskyy said, “He [Trump] can publicly share his idea now, not waste time, not to lose people, and say, ‘My formula is to stop the war and stop all this tragedy and stop Russian aggression.'”

However, Zelenskyy emphasized that any plan must not involve Ukraine surrendering its own territory to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated, “That is not the peace formula,” during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

In a recent interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump hinted at his ability to resolve the conflict within a day by negotiating a fair deal with Putin and Zelenskyy. However, he did not provide any specific details about his proposed plan.

In the same interview, Trump suggested that a deal between the two countries could already have been reached if Ukraine had handed over Crimea, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014. He stated, “That’s something that could have been negotiated. You could have made a deal. So they could have made a deal where there’s lesser territory right now than Russia’s already taken, to be honest. And you could have made a deal where nobody was killed.”

Zelenskyy recently addressed the United Nations General Assembly and is scheduled to visit Washington on Thursday to meet with President Joe Biden and lawmakers. This visit aims to strengthen Ukraine’s relationship with the United States and seek support for its ongoing conflict with Russia.

Biden has requested an additional $24 billion package for Ukraine from Congress, although House Republicans have raised objections to this proposal.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy expressed skepticism about providing further aid to Ukraine and stated he has questions for Zelenskyy. McCarthy said, “Is Zelenskyy elected to Congress? Is he our president? I don’t think I have to commit anything and I think I have questions for him.”

Responding to GOP resistance, Zelenskyy told CNN that it is unfair to equate the war in Ukraine with domestic U.S. issues like energy. He emphasized the importance of understanding the difference by experiencing the situation on the ground in Ukraine.

Notably, Zelenskyy had previously invited McCarthy to visit Ukraine and witness the conflict firsthand. However, McCarthy rejected the invitation.
