US Acknowledges Iran’s Successful Satellite Launch amid Heightened Tensions – A Milestone Achievement

The United States has acknowledged Iran’s recent satellite launch, adding to the already tense relationship between the two nations.

Iran announced on Wednesday that its Revolutionary Guard had successfully launched the Noor-3 satellite. This satellite launch, similar to previous ones, has raised concerns as it is believed to contribute to Iran’s ballistic missile program.

On Friday, data from space-track.org, which receives information from the 18th Space Defense Squadron of the U.S. Space Force, confirmed that the satellite had been placed in orbit. The U.S. military has not officially commented on the launch.

General Ali Jafarabadi, the Revolutionary Guard space commander, stated on Iranian state television that the Noor-3 satellite has superior imaging capabilities compared to the Noor-2 satellite. The Noor-2 satellite, launched in March 2022, is still in orbit, while the Noor-1 satellite fell from orbit last year.

Gen. Jafarabadi also mentioned that Iran’s satellite program could potentially include drone control. He emphasized the importance of satellite technologies in modern warfare, stating that remote control capabilities are crucial for success on the battlefield.

“In recent conflicts around the world, satellite technologies have played a vital role. Progressive countries are now equipping their forces with remote-controlled equipment, making it essential for us to rely on satellites for guidance and surveillance,” he explained.
