Trevor Noah’s Jaw-Dropping $9.5M NYC Penthouse Sale: A Celebrity’s Dream Home Finds a New Owner

Trevor Noah, the former host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” has successfully sold his stylish penthouse in Hell’s Kitchen. The property, located at Stella Tower, was sold for a significant sum of $9.5 million, as per city records filed on Thursday. Interestingly, the new owner is Marcus Evans, a prominent figure in organizing live business, sports, and entertainment events worldwide. The duplex penthouse, which has undergone extensive renovations, features its own private plunge pool. It was listed on StreetEasy with an initial asking price of $10.99 million and entered into a contract at the end of July. Noah initially purchased the three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom penthouse for $10.18 million in 2017 and listed it for sale last autumn for $12.95 million, shortly before his departure from “The Daily Show.” Noah has recently been involved in various projects, including a Netflix special titled “I Wish You Would,” which received an Emmy nomination last year. He is also set to release his second book, “Into the Uncut Grass,” in late October, with plans for a movie adaptation starring Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” who will portray Noah’s mother and serve as a producer for the film, according to People magazine.

The penthouse itself offers a luxurious and spacious living area adorned with glamorous features. It includes an open kitchen and dining area, which can be accessed through elegant arched doorways. The unit boasts massive windows that allow ample natural light and provide stunning views. With a generous size of 3,596 square feet, this residence also showcases a 1,000-square-foot landscaped terrace complete with a custom teak pergola, a wet bar, and surround sound. Inside, the design exudes sophistication and includes a floating staircase, a great room with high ceilings, large casement windows, a stylish kitchen with a walk-in pantry, and a formal dining room. Additionally, one of the bedrooms has been transformed into a home theater. Stella Tower itself has a rich history, originally built in 1927 by renowned Art Deco architect Ralph Walker, who affectionately named it after his wife. The building was later converted into luxury condos by CetraRuddy architects in collaboration with Jarvis Studio. Residents can enjoy various amenities, such as a doorman, a gym, a residents’ lounge, bicycle storage facilities, and cold storage. When approached for comment, the listing broker, Nick Gavin of Compass, opted not to provide a statement.
