June 26 (UPI) — Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the highly anticipated documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated. The film showcases the remarkable journey of the Golden State Warriors guard and four-time NBA champion.

The captivating documentary, which explores the life and career of the two-time NBA MVP and nine-time NBA All-Star, is set to premiere on July 21 exclusively on Apple TV+.

Originally introduced at the Sundance Film Festival in January, Stephen Curry: Underrated combines archival footage and compelling interviews to chronicle Curry’s journey from his time at Davidson College to his professional success after being drafted into the NBA in 2009.

In the trailer, Curry reflects on his humble beginnings and says, “How did I get here? I was the undersized, scrawny kid who was just trying to figure out how to make it. I was overwhelmed by everything. How would I respond?”

Described as “one of the most influential, dynamic and unexpected players in the history of basketball,” the 6-foot-2 guard’s incredible talent has helped build one of the most dominant sports dynasties in the world, according to the film’s synopsis.

The trailer and poster for Stephen Curry: Underrated were shared by Apple Original Films on Twitter, with a message that reads, “This is for anyone who’s ever been underrated.”

The production of Stephen Curry: Underrated is a collaboration among esteemed producers Peter Nicks, Ryan Coogler, Erick Peyton, Sean Havey, Ben Cotner, and Marissa Torres. The executive producers are Emily Osborne, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler.

In the trailer, Curry acknowledges the ongoing sense of being underestimated and says, “That feeling of being underrated will always be part of the drive that keeps me going.”
