Heyward, who attempted to continue playing but was ultimately ruled out at halftime, is expected to miss approximately eight weeks of play. This news was first reported by sources from NFL Network, ESPN, and The Athletic earlier this week.
According to NFL Network’s latest report, Heyward’s surgery is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh on Thursday, and his estimated recovery time will be around two months. There is a possibility that he may return to the field around midseason. Heyward’s absence will undoubtedly have an impact on the team, as he has been a consistent force on the defensive line and has only missed one game since 2017.
