Rich Paul Throws Unexpected ‘Low Blow’ at Stephen A. Smith, Revealing Surprising Insight about His Sister

Rich Paul had the last laugh when he made a witty remark about Stephen A. Smith’s sister, Carmen.

During a recent episode of “First Take,” Paul, the CEO of Klutch Sports, jokingly accused Smith of being “jealous” because Carmen loves him.

“You’re jealous,” Paul repeated after Smith teased him about not paying attention when they discuss basketball.

“Let me tell you what you’re jealous of because Carmen loves Rich. That’s what you’re jealous about Stephen A.”

Smith smirked and pointed at Paul in response.

“My sister,” he said. “Oh, that’s a low blow you just pulled on national television, but I’ll let it slide because I need her to cook something for me tonight and I don’t want to get on her bad side.”

It was all in good fun between Smith and Paul as they appeared on the show together to promote Paul’s new book, “Lucky Me: A Memoir of Changing the Odds.” The book explores Paul’s story of meeting NBA superstar LeBron James at an airport when he was 21 and how their friendship led to the creation of a multi-billion dollar sports and entertainment business.

Smith has previously praised Paul on his radio show, and the two have shared playful banter over the years.

While Smith usually keeps his personal life private, he has mentioned his sister on television on multiple occasions. Carmen even appeared on the debut episode of Smith’s ESPN show, “NBA in Stephen A’s World,” in October 2022.

Smith and Paul made headlines last month when Paul disputed a story shared by Smith about an argument between the two. The NBA super agent called the story “cap” and denied Smith’s claim that he had told Paul to “get the f–k out my face” during a discussion about James and Jordan.
