Review Finds Canadian Military’s COVID-19 Vaccine Policy Breached Charter Rights – National Review

A military grievance process tribunal has determined that the COVID-19 vaccine policy violated the Charter rights of Armed Forces members. The recommendations from the Military Grievances External Review Committee may not be binding, but they could influence the chief of the defence staff’s final decision on the 157 filed grievances.

The vaccine policy, implemented in November 2021, required Canadian Armed Forces members to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or face discharge.

By the time the policy ended in October, a total of 299 individuals had been discharged from the military and an additional 108 left voluntarily.
