Revealing Katy Perry’s Candid Sayings on Ex-Husband Russell Brand Reemerge

Katy Perry’s past remarks about divorcing Russell Brand are resurfacing after The Sunday Times published a story this weekend in which several women accused the comedian and actor of sexual assault.

Speaking to Vogue in 2013, Perry discussed breaking up with Brand, to whom she was married for a little over a year beginning in 2010.

Katy Perry’s comments about her divorce from Russell Brand are making headlines once again. The Sunday Times recently published a story detailing allegations of sexual assault against Brand by multiple women.

In her 2013 interview with Vogue, Perry spoke openly about her break-up with Brand and the truth she discovered, which she kept locked away. She stated, “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”

This quote has resurfaced in light of the recent allegations against Brand, leading some to wonder if Perry had any knowledge of them.

Perry also revealed to Vogue that Brand had difficulty accepting her role as a “boss” during their tour and struggled with the equality in their relationship.

According to the joint investigation conducted by multiple UK news outlets, the alleged assaults by Brand occurred between 2006 and 2013. One woman claims Brand raped her in his Los Angeles home, while another alleges he forced his penis down her throat when she was 16 and he was 31.

One day before the release of the investigation, Brand released a video on social media denying the “very serious criminal allegations” and admitting to his promiscuity during his acting career, while emphasizing that all his relationships were consensual.

Representatives for Katy Perry have not yet responded to requests for comment.
