If you thought this year’s PGA Tour Designated events or LIV Golf Invitationals had substantial prize money, prepare to be amazed.

The FedEx Cup bonus pool has been increased to a staggering $75 million this year. This means that the winner of the Tour Championship will receive a mind-blowing $18 million payout.

While the debate continues about whether the Tour Championship can be considered the richest tournament in pro golf (technically, the money comes from the FedEx Cup Bonus pool and not official earnings), there is no denying that the prize money is substantial.

Heading into the final round, Viktor Hovland holds a commanding lead of 20 under, giving him the opportunity to claim the $18 million prize as the winner of the BMW Championship last week.

However, last year, Scottie Scheffler had a similar six-shot lead going into the final round at East Lake, only to lose it to Rory McIlroy.

Xander Schaufele is currently the closest competitor to Hovland, sitting at 14 under. Schaufele has an impressive record at East Lake, with a win in his first start in 2017 and consistently finishing in the top 7 since. However, he has not won the event since it switched to the staggered start format based on FedEx Cup standing.

Even a top-10 finish this week guarantees a payday of over $1 million.

With that in mind, here is the full breakdown of the payout for the 2023 Tour Championship and FedEx Cup bonus pool. The total prize pool is $75 million:
