Mercedes Introduces Compact Version of G Class Luxury SUV

The Mercedes-Benz G Class has gained immense popularity in the United States as a luxury SUV.

In an interview with CNBC, Ola Kallenius, CEO of Mercedes, revealed the company’s plans to introduce a smaller version of their high-end G Class sports utility vehicle. This move aims to cater to a wider range of buyers and potentially compete with rivals in the luxury SUV segment such as Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.

The G Class, renowned for its off-road capabilities, boasts a starting price of just under $140,000. It has been a favorite among U.S. buyers for over forty years and has received updates in terms of technology. Mercedes has even teased a concept electric version of the car.

While Kallenius confirmed the development of the “little G,” he refrained from providing a definitive launch date. However, he assured enthusiasts that the wait would be worthwhile, hinting at an exceptional product.

Mercedes has historically regulated the supply of the G Class, making it a coveted and exclusive vehicle. Kallenius stated that supply constraints are likely to persist, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to meticulously managing the volume of this iconic model.
