Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner reach amicable resolution in highly-publicized divorce case – National

Kevin Costner and his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, have reached a resolution in their divorce proceedings.

After the judge decided that Costner would pay $63,000 per month in child support instead of the requested $248,000 by Baumgartner, it seems she understood the situation.

Over the weekend, Baumgartner agreed to the terms outlined in a three-page settlement letter. The details of the settlement are unknown, but it seems that her request for Costner to cover $850,000 in legal fees was not included.

“Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings,” a representative for Costner said in a joint statement with Entertainment Tonight.

Previously, Baumgartner argued that the high child support amount was necessary to maintain the children’s standard of living, as they resided in Costner’s oceanside Santa Barbara compound.

On his part, Costner claimed that the proposed $248,000 child support payment was too much and could deplete his finances. He stated that he often funds his projects from his personal bank account, emphasizing that he is a unique figure in the film industry.

Fox News reported that Costner is solely responsible for the children’s healthcare, private school tuition, extracurricular activities, and the oldest son’s car expenses.

Last month, Costner mentioned to the outlet that there are no winners in a divorce.

“When you have a life that long with somebody, there is no winner… and it’s this big, crazy thing called life and how it unravels so quickly,” he said. “One minute you feel like you’re on top of the world, and then you realize how vulnerable you are.”

Nevertheless, Costner described Baumgartner as “an incredible mom.”

Costner, who is no longer a cast member of the popular TV series Yellowstone, is currently in post-production for his latest film Horizon: An American Saga. He played the lead role, produced, and directed the film.
(Costner previously revealed that he took out a mortgage on one of his California properties to finance Horizon, which is the first installment of a four-part film series.)

Baumgartner is a businessperson, handbag designer, and former model.

Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner in May after being married for 18 years. They have three children together.
