Travis Shumake, the first openly gay driver to compete in the National Hot Rod Association, happens to live above Delmonico’s. Upon meeting Tucci, the third-generation partner of Delmonico’s, Shumake formed a friendship that eventually led to a sponsorship for his race car. With Delmonico’s branding proudly displayed on his vehicle and racing gear, Shumake showcases the restaurant to fans and spectators as he speeds by at incredible speeds. Delmonico’s welcomes diners from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and extends its hours until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
