6 Arrested: Shocking Discovery of Woman’s Body Tied to ‘Soldiers of Christ’ Case

Georgia police have reported that six individuals, including five adults and one juvenile, have been charged with murder in connection with a group they refer to as the “Soldiers of Christ.” The arrests came after the discovery of a woman’s body, weighing only 70 pounds, in the trunk of one suspect’s car, as per NBC News. According to Gwinnett County Police, the woman, who arrived from South Korea to join the religious group in the US this summer, had been subjected to beatings and malnourishment for weeks. Investigators believe she was held captive in a basement.

Police have stated that malnourishment could be a contributing factor to the woman’s death. The medical examiner’s office is currently investigating the exact cause of death. The suspects have been identified as Georgia residents Eric Hyun, 26; Gawom Lee, 26; Joonho Lee, 26; Juoonhyum Lee, 22; Hyunji Lee, 25; and an unnamed 15-year-old. They have been charged with false imprisonment, tampering with evidence, concealing the death of another, and felony murder, according to CBS News.

The woman’s body was discovered when Hyun parked his vehicle outside a Korean spa in Duluth, approximately 22 miles northeast of Atlanta. He asked a relative to take him to a hospital for unrelated injuries and requested that the relative retrieve something from his car, where the body was found. The relative immediately contacted emergency services. According to a neighbor named Randy Adams, who lived across from the alleged captive site, the suspects moved in around a year ago, and he rarely saw them. However, on the night the woman’s body was found, he noticed them standing in a circle on the street, as reported by Atlanta News First . (Read more Georgia stories.)
