Hailing from Aloha, Oregon, she has donated an incredible 1,600 liters of breast milk from February 2015 to June 2018. This amount is equivalent to 800 2-liter bottles of Coke, and it is only a portion of what she has pumped in a span of nine years. Throughout those years, she estimates that she has donated 350,000 ounces of milk, which has been used to nourish premature babies in neonatal units around the world. Anderson-Sierra’s astounding milk production is a result of a condition known as hyperlactation syndrome. Over the course of nine years, this amounts to 958 days spent pumping. According to USA Today, Anderson-Sierra’s motivation stems from wanting to assist other mothers who struggle to provide their babies with breast milk. However, she admits that the commitment is challenging and contemplates the possibility of getting a mastectomy in the future. Nevertheless, she remains dedicated to donating her milk until then.
