The 75th annual Emmy Awards nominations were revealed on Wednesday morning, and HBO has matched NBC’s record from 1992 by having four series in the running for outstanding drama. These series include the critically acclaimed fan-favorites “Succession” and “The White Lotus,” the video game adaptation “The Last Of Us,” and the “Game of Thrones” prequel, “House of the Dragon.”
“Succession,” which led the nominations last year, once again dominated the roster with a total of 27 nominations for its final season. The announcement was made by Yvette Nicole Brown from “A Black Lady Sketch Show” and “Community,” and Frank Scherma, the chairman of the Television Academy. The industry is currently facing a major challenge as the SAG/AFTRA union, comprising over 160,000 members, and television and film writers have been on strike since May. Opening the presentation, Scherma expressed hope for a swift resolution to the ongoing guild negotiations.
