Equipment Sold in Auction by MyPillow due to Sales Slump as Mike Lindell Attributes Troubles to ‘Cancel Culture’

MyPillow, the innovative pillow and bedding company founded by CEO Mike Lindell, is now offering more than 700 pieces of company equipment for auction. The items range from forklifts to office desks and cubicles.

Lindell, a prominent supporter of former President Donald Trump, revealed that the decision to auction off the equipment was influenced by a $100 million decline in revenue after major retailers stopped selling MyPillow products. He attributed this decline to what he calls “cancel culture.”

Lindell specifically criticized Walmart for removing MyPillow products from its shelves. Walmart’s online site does not display any listings for MyPillow products, and the company confirmed that it stopped selling the items in its physical stores last year.

In Lindell’s words, “It was a massive, massive cancellation. We lost $100 million from attacks by the box stores, the shopping networks, the shopping channels; all of them participated in cancel culture against us.”

Lindell also mentioned that MyPillow is currently streamlining its operations. However, he did not provide any further comments in response to a request from CBS MoneyWatch.

Other retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, H-E-B, and Wayfair, also suspended sales of MyPillow products. This development followed the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, by Trump supporters who propagated baseless conspiracy theories regarding the election results.

Despite these controversies, Lindell continues to promote these election theories. He previously stated to CBS MoneyWatch that President Joe Biden “didn’t win the election, that’s a fact.”

Legal Issues and Auction Details

Additionally, Lindell is currently facing a $1.3 billion lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, accusing him of making false claims about the company’s involvement in election fraud.

Meanwhile, individuals in need of affordable office equipment can explore the auction site. The auctioneer, based in Shakopee, Minnesota, will conclude the bidding on July 18. The available items include various L-shaped desks, bulletin boards, stacking chairs, office chairs, and heavy-duty equipment like pallet wrappers and industrial sewing machines.
