Baby Riot made his grand entrance into the world on August 1, at the early hour of 7:41 a.m. This time around, Rih and Rocky are taking a different approach when it comes to publicizing their baby. Within a month of his birth, the world already knew Riot’s name and birthday, which is certainly a change from their previous experience with RZA. We didn’t even know RZA’s name until he was almost a year old! And forget about seeing his face, RZA’s debut was a TikTok video where Rihanna playfully said he was “hacked,” at the age of seven months.
The pregnancy announcements for both children were quite distinct as well. In January 2022, the couple shared adorable photos of Rihanna with her baby bump, quietly confirming the news. On the other hand, Rihanna’s second pregnancy announcement, for baby Riot, was a high-profile event aired internationally. Rihanna proudly displayed her growing belly during her Super Bowl halftime show, proving it was anything but low-key.
The family portraits showcase the entire family, with separate shots of the cute newborn and the adorable toddler, as well as candid and posed pictures of the whole group enjoying themselves and looking photogenic.
In a press conference held in February 2023 before her Super Bowl performance, Rihanna opened up about the emotional impact of becoming a mother and why she chose to do the show. Looking back, considering it was also the reveal of her pregnancy with Riot, it holds even more significance.
“When you become a mom, there’s a transformation that happens where you feel like you can conquer the world and achieve anything,” she shared. “The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages globally. Despite being a bit intimidating, since I haven’t performed in seven years, there’s something incredibly exhilarating about taking on the challenge.”
