  • Due to a catering mishap, British Airways served KFC to passengers on a flight from the Caribbean to London.
  • Passengers received only a single piece of chicken each, as reported by One Mile At A Time.
  • In a statement, the airline explained that limited food options at the airport forced them to “wing it.”

Passengers on a 12-hour British Airways flight from the Caribbean to London were unexpectedly served a single piece of KFC chicken each, due to a catering mishap, according to a report by One Mile At A Time.

The plane’s catering carts had not been properly chilled, resulting in the disposal of all the planned meals for the flight.

British Airways stated that unforeseen circumstances prevented them from providing their usual meal service and limited food options at the airport forced them to source food from elsewhere.

“Our teams acted swiftly to ensure our customers had something to eat,” said a spokesperson for British Airways.

The cabin crew managed to acquire buckets of KFC chicken to distribute among the passengers, as shown in a video shared on Instagram.

Passengers in business and first-class seats were also offered the fast food option, as confirmed by a photo shared on Twitter.

The incident occurred on July 23 during BA flight 252 from Providenciales to London Heathrow Airport, with a scheduled stopover in Nassau.

As a gesture of apology, British Airways provided customers with a refreshment voucher upon landing.

British Airways expressed their apologies for the inconvenience and joked, “We’re sorry if we ruffled any feathers.”
