Stellantis has revealed its intention to construct a second electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in the United States, in collaboration with Samsung. The new facility, slated to be operational by 2027, will support Stellantis’ goal of providing at least 25 new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) to the North American market by the end of the decade. The partnership with Samsung SDI, a leading supplier of battery technology, reinforces Stellantis’ commitment to expanding its EV production capacity and achieving carbon neutrality by 2038. This move comes as part of Stellantis’ strategy to establish itself as a key player in the EV market and meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions. The company plans to develop a total of five battery factories in Europe and North America, with the aim of selling five million BEVs globally annually by 2030.
