Bongbong Marcos aims to increase the number of barangay health centers through construction efforts

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. visited Pampanga to inspect the design of the upcoming ‘Clark Multi-Specialty Medical Center’. In his speech, he announced his plans to build more health centers in rural areas, with the aim of providing specialized healthcare to Filipinos outside of Metro Manila. He emphasized that this project is part of a larger healthcare system that they are developing to ensure that people don’t have to wait until they are seriously ill to seek treatment at major hospitals.

President Marcos expressed his commitment to bringing healthcare services closer to the people, particularly the poor. He mentioned the establishment of rural healthcare units, barangay centers, and botica de barangay, all aimed at making fundamental healthcare easily accessible to all Filipinos.

The event was attended by House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag. With this initiative, the Marcos administration is actively seeking more sites for specialty hospitals, such as the Philippine Heart Center – Clark, to benefit over 160,000 workers in the area.

By expanding the healthcare infrastructure and making it more accessible, President Marcos aims to improve the overall health and well-being of the Filipino population.
