Bijou Phillips Seeks Divorce from Danny Masterson: A Closer Look into Their Separation

Bijou Phillips has officially filed for divorce from actor Danny Masterson, known for his role in “That 70’s Show,” less than two weeks after Masterson’s conviction on rape charges in Los Angeles.

According to CNN, Phillips filed the divorce petition in Santa Barbara on Monday. Masterson was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rape in a retrial.

Insider reached out to Phillips’ attorney for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

Phillips and Masterson got married in 2011 and have a 9-year-old daughter together.

Masterson’s conviction comes after multiple women, who were former Scientologists, accused him of rape between 2001 and 2003.

In addition to the two charging witnesses, other survivors with sexual assault allegations against Masterson testified during the trials. The women claimed that Masterson, who was a prominent Scientologist at the time, used the Church of Scientology to silence them.

The three women at the center of the trial filed sexual assault allegations with the Los Angeles Police Department in 2017, which initiated the criminal investigation.

Throughout the trials, Phillips stood by Masterson’s side, showing support by attending court sessions and sitting with friends and family in the designated section of the courtroom.

Legal reporter Meghan Cuniff reported that on the day of Masterson’s sentencing, Phillips appeared visibly emotional and teary-eyed. As Masterson was being escorted out of the room in handcuffs, he blew a kiss to Phillips.
