World number two Aryna Sabalenka secured her spot in the fourth round of Wimbledon for the second time with a dominant victory over Russia’s Anna Blinkova. With a chance to claim the number-one ranking from Iga Swiatek, Sabalenka sealed her straight-sets win 6-2, 6-3, hitting an impressive 30 winners, including nine aces. She will face another Russian player, 21st-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova, in her bid for a place in the quarter-finals. Sabalenka previously reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2021 but was unable to participate last year due to Belarus’s support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
