Woman convicted of conspiracy to bomb 5G masts due to her delusional beliefs about Covid and vaccines is sentenced to a year in jail.

A woman, Christine Grayson, who was involved in a delusional anti-vaccine conspiracy plot to destroy 5G masts, has been sentenced to 12 months in a UK prison, with six months to be served on license. Grayson became obsessed with conspiracy theories about the Covid vaccine and believed that the cell phone masts were linked to it. The judge noted that Grayson was a charity fundraiser and had no prior criminal record before she started posting online about the ‘dangerous’ 5G technology. She discussed methods to eliminate the cell phone masts with expanding foam and angle grinders, asking for a ‘sabotage team’ and posting videos of burning masts. Although Grayson never went beyond the planning stage, the judge deemed that she had taken the law into her own hands. Grayson’s co-defendant, Darren Reynolds, was convicted of eight terrorist offenses related to his extremist views and received a 12-year sentence, with an additional year on license. Reynolds discussed armed uprisings and advocated violence towards people he called ‘traitors.’ Reynolds made several disturbing comments, including calling for the hanging of MPs and calling for the “total annihilation” of Jews. He “applauded the callous murders” of MPs Jo Cox and Sir David Amess. Reynolds disseminated a terrorist publication and was convicted of encouraging terrorism through his online comments. Among other things, Reynolds possessed material likely to be useful to a person committing an act of terrorism, including a manual on how to build a .50 Browning caliber single shot rifle. When police searched their addresses, they found a crossbow and crossbow bolts at Grayson’s home, while at Reynolds’ home, they found two replica assault rifles.
