According to reports, O’Shea broke up with Gill via text after five weeks of the show’s finale. However, O’Shea has refuted these claims in an interview with the Daily Mail, stating that they were actually discussing their relationship over FaceTime when the news broke.

“I believe she wanted me to fight for the relationship, but I had to be realistic and approach it as a genuine relationship rather than just being the winners of Love Island,” explained the Irish reality star. “This conversation took place over FaceTime, and while I was away for training, I set my phone aside. When I returned after an hour, my phone was filled with messages and an article was published claiming ‘Greg breaks up with Amber over text’ – I couldn’t believe it.”

O’Shea further revealed that Gill told him it was her management who released the statement and that “she didn’t want it to happen.”

As a result of the controversy, O’Shea received death threats and lost 600,000 followers on Instagram. He has since redirected his focus towards rugby and has aspirations to compete in the next Olympics with the Irish national team.

Following the show, Gill has found success as an influencer and has secured brand deals. She has also made appearances on shows like “Loose Women” and “Saturday Night Takeaway.” Additionally, Gill has a book deal with Mills & Boon for the release of her romance novels.

In terms of her love life, Gill is currently in a relationship with Scottish footballer Jen Beattie, having revealed her sexual orientation last year.

Fans started speculating when Gill tweeted, “Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life” and “Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn’t put myself through it again.”

She later clarified on FubarRadio’s “Access All Areas” that it was a accidental statement.

“Accidentally, I remember looking at it and thinking, oh no, what have I said,” she admitted. “Normally, people share lovely stories and heartfelt Instagram posts. I ended up posting about switching teams on a tweet, and that’s how I unintentionally came out.”
