The cause of the fire is still unknown, but rescue operations are currently underway. This tragic incident has left local authorities and the community devastated.

According to local official Christophe Marot, the authorities have strong suspicions that the missing individuals did not survive the fire. The search for the bodies is ongoing, and they are being cautious until all the bodies are located. The victims ranged in age from their mid-20s to 50, as confirmed by Wintzenheim Deputy Mayor Daniel Leroy. More than seventy firefighters, along with forty police officers and four ambulances, were present at the scene to battle the blaze and assist in rescue efforts. The fire was eventually brought under control, but not before causing significant damage to two-thirds of the building.
