This plan, if passed, needs to be signed into law by President Joe Biden to avert a partial government shutdown. This legislation is far from perfect, but it is a clean bill without slashing any spending. It also includes extending food assistance for poor families until September 30th. The plan sets different funding deadlines for various parts of the government and may be intended to appeal to warring factions within the Republican Party.
