The late Andre Moizard spent decades collecting cars, resulting in an extensive and diverse assortment of vehicles that is now being auctioned off. Prairie Auctions is offering more than 200 vehicles through online bidding, including running vehicles, project cars, and parts cars. The auction will run until September 12, with a preview weekend on the property from September 8 to 10 near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Growing Up With a Passion for Cars

Andre Moizard’s love for cars began during his childhood on a family farm in France. His father, Charly, instilled in him the value of hard work and earning money to achieve his goals. Moizard’s first car project was a white Citroen 2CV, which he restored and customized with a red Rolling Stones tongue painted on the back. This project sparked his passion for automotive restoration and modification.

Moving to Canada and Continuing the Passion

Moizard decided to leave France in his early 20s and moved to Canada, specifically Alberta, where he managed a farm in Vegreville. From the moment he arrived, he began collecting cars, particularly Cadillacs. In 1984, he moved to Fort Saskatchewan and continued expanding his collection while working on another farm. His passion for cars never wavered, even after surviving cancer 20 years ago. The vehicles became his focus and he traveled across Western Canada, Quebec, and the United States to find and purchase unique cars for his collection.

An Extensive Collection up for Auction

Over the years, Moizard accumulated a massive collection of vehicles on his property near Fort Saskatchewan. In 2021, he auctioned off around 50 or 60 vehicles, but after his passing in March of this year, the rest of the collection needs to be sold. The collection includes vintage French cars, Cadillacs, Jeeps, British vehicles, Packards, Fords, Buicks, Subarus, Porsches, and many more. There are also parts cars available, as Moizard had dedicated areas filled with wrecks for sourcing parts.

Despite his love for cars, Moizard was always willing to sell a vehicle to enthusiasts who shared his passion. His son-in-law, Antoine Gruson, is now settling the estate and has hired Prairie Auctions to hold the online event. The family hopes to find new homes for the majority of the vehicles and continue Moizard’s legacy.
