MIAMI, Sept. 20 (UPI) — Discover the top fantasy football tight ends to start in Week 3, including Cade Otton and Hayden Hurst.

Make sure to check out my rankings for quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers to stay prepared. These rankings will be regularly updated to account for any injury news or developments.

T.J. Hockenson, Mark Andrews, Evan Engram, and Travis Kelce currently rank at the top of my tight end rankings for Week 3. Otton, Hurst, and Zach Ertz are must-start picks for this week as well.

If you have Logan Thomas on your roster, keep an eye on his status as he is currently in the league’s concussion protocol after Week 2.

Evan Engram

Engram is currently ranked No. 3 among tight ends. He has been a consistent contributor to the Jacksonville Jaguars offense, totaling 106 yards on 11 catches in the first two games of the season. Engram recorded five catches in Week 1 and six in Week 2.

This week, the Jaguars will be facing the Houston Texans, a defense that allowed six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown to Indianapolis Colts tight ends in Week 2. Engram, who ranks in the Top 5 for fantasy points per game among tight ends, is poised to excel in this matchup.

Engram should be started in all leagues that require starting the tight end position.

Zach Ertz

Ertz leads all tight ends, as well as all Arizona Cardinals players, with 18 targets this season. He currently ranks in the Top 12 for fantasy points per game among tight ends. Ertz has made six catches in each of his first two games, totaling 56 yards in Week 2 against the New York Giants.

This week, the Cardinals will be facing the Dallas Cowboys. While the Cowboys have a decent defense against tight ends, Ertz is expected to receive at least eight targets in this game. He is ranked No. 8 in my rankings and has the potential to break into the Top 5 with a touchdown.

Hayden Hurst

Hurst is currently ranked No. 10 in my Week 3 rankings. The Carolina Panthers veteran will be facing the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle.

The Seahawks have allowed the fourth-most receiving yards to tight ends through the first two weeks of the season. In Week 2, they surrendered five catches for 53 yards to Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta. In Week 1, they allowed four catches for 70 yards to Los Angeles Rams tight ends.

Hurst has been a top performer at the position so far this season, among tight ends who have played two games. While he may be a touchdown-dependent play, I believe he has a good chance of finding the end zone against the Seahawks.

Cade Otton

Otton is my No. 12 pick for Week 3. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end caught two out of three targets in Week 1, but had a perfect six receptions for 41 yards in Week 2.

Look for Otton to gain at least 50 yards in Week 3 when the Buccaneers take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles have a strong run defense but have struggled against the pass, allowing the second-most passing yards and the most passing touchdowns in the NFL going into Week 3. They have also given up the most catches, the second-most yards, and the most fantasy points to tight ends.

In Week 2, Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson had a standout performance against the Eagles with 66 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches. In Week 1, New England Patriots tight ends recorded eight catches for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles.

Otton is a fringe TE1 in leagues with at least 12 teams that require starting the tight end position.
