A nurse has suffered severe injuries after being crushed in a tragic accident involving an MRI machine.
This horrifying incident occurred in February and is detailed in a recently published OSHA investigation conducted at Redwood City Medical Center in Redwood, California.
According to the report, the powerful magnetic force of the MRI caused the bed to be pulled uncontrollably into the machine.
Nurse Ainah Cervantes was pinned between the bed and the machine, resulting in crushing injuries, as reported by KTVU.
“I was being pushed by the bed,” she recalled in a statement obtained by the news channel. “Basically, I was running backwards. If I didn’t move, the bed would have crushed me.”
Findings from the California Department of Public Health revealed that the hospital failed to ensure the safety of radiologic services.

Ms. Cervantes sustained a severe laceration that required surgical intervention with two screws.
The patient who fell off the hospital bed during the incident, fortunately, did not suffer any harm.
An investigation by the California Department of Public Health determined that the hospital had “failed to provide radiologic services in a safe manner”.
