Ukrainian Military Receives Training from International Partners for Over 100,000 Soldiers

According to Interfax-Ukraine, over 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have undergone training in more than 30 partner countries in less than two years. Major General Oleksandr Kyrylenko, the deputy chief of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, made the statement on Nov. 21, emphasizing the significant strengthening of defense capabilities against Russian aggression through the creation of an effective training system.

The international training system for the Ukrainian military reportedly focuses on basic training for new recruits, instructions on foreign weaponry usage, training for commanders and junior officers, and collective training at different unit levels.

The U.K. Defense Ministry recently announced that more than 30,000 Ukrainian recruits received training in the British-led Operation Interflex since June 2022. In addition, the EU aims to train 40,000 Ukrainian troops by the end of 2023 within the framework of its military training mission EUMAM.
