UK Drivers Beware: Speed Cameras Nab Speeders Regardless of Deceleration

Drivers are being warned about a revolutionary high-tech speed camera that has the capability to catch them even if they slow down. Many drivers manage to evade fines by reducing their speed when approaching the camera and then accelerating once they’ve passed it. However, this new camera is designed to expose their tactics.

This cutting-edge camera, which has recently been tested in Spain’s Navarra region, utilizes laser systems and “doppler effect technology” to accurately measure speed over a specific distance. The successful trial paves the way for its potential implementation on British roads.

What sets these new cameras apart is their ability to employ a mobile radar device that can capture drivers who decelerate before reaching the cameras and then speed up afterward. Road Angel’s founder, Gary Digva, has cautioned UK drivers that these anti-braking systems might be introduced nationwide to curb speeding.

Digva stated, “If these devices are introduced, they will identify and penalize more speeding motorists, encouraging drivers to adhere to speed limits and enhance road safety.”

This news follows the disturbing revelation that one in four fatal collisions in the UK is caused by speeding, resulting in over 2,500 serious injuries each year. Digva added, “By targeting drivers who abruptly brake prior to passing speed cameras and using technology to catch those who accelerate afterward, these new radar devices can penalize a significantly higher number of motorists compared to existing systems.”
