Highlighting the connection between American taxpayer dollars and the attacks, Trump suggested that reports are indicating the involvement of the Biden Administration. He lamented the apparent dismantling of the progress made in the Middle East through the Abraham Accords and criticized Biden’s actions, saying, “Here we go again.”
President Joe Biden, who is expected to run against Trump in the 2024 presidential election, released a statement condemning the attacks and expressing support for Israel. Biden assured Prime Minister Netanyahu that the United States stands ready to provide assistance.
Meanwhile, Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut criticized Republicans for their partisan criticism of Biden during this time. Murphy denounced this “partisan hackery” and emphasized the importance of statesmanship. He argued that shifting the blame away from the terrorists only benefits Hamas at the present moment.
