He stated, “I’ve got more wind… And I’m thinking about bringing the band in and setting up, playing two or three days somewhere just to see if I can get through two hours.” He plans to test his ability to handle a few nights of work between his chemotherapy treatments.
It was nearly a year ago that Keith publicly revealed his stomach cancer diagnosis, which he had been secretly battling for six months. In June 2022, he announced, “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer… I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation, and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover, and relax.”
During his journey, Keith has remained committed to supporting families facing cancer diagnoses. In 2006, he established the Toby Keith Foundation to assist pediatric cancer patients. Recently, he celebrated his 19th annual “Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic,” a charity event that raised a record-breaking $1.8 million.
