Tim McGraw discusses his ideal musical partners and the possibility of a collective family album.

Country music legend Tim McGraw has had the privilege of collaborating with numerous iconic artists throughout his illustrious career. However, he recently revealed that there are still plenty of singers on his wishlist whom he would love to work with. McGraw took part in an Ask Me Anything session backstage during the 2023 “GMA” Summer Concert Series, where he answered fan questions about dream collaborators, his latest album “Standing Room Only,” his musical family, and more.

When asked if he would ever consider re-recording any of his past songs as duets with other artists, McGraw expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I would love to go back and re-record all of my songs from the ’90s and early 2000s when I was on Curb Records. It would be amazing to do duet versions of those songs with different artists.”

McGraw also revealed that he has a “long list of artists” whom he greatly admires and would be thrilled to sing with. Topping that list is Bruce Springsteen, whom he considers not only a phenomenal artist but also an incredible human being. Other artists he mentioned include George Strait, his wife Faith Hill (with whom he has previously collaborated), Adele, and Chris Stapleton. Speaking about Stapleton, McGraw praised him as one of the most talented singer-songwriters in the industry.

The conversation then turned to the possibility of McGraw’s daughters, Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey, recording a full album or even collaborating with him and Hill on a joint project. McGraw expressed his interest in doing a family record, although he admitted that he wasn’t sure if his daughters would be on board. However, he believes that all of his daughters are incredibly talented singers and could definitely release their own albums at some point.

Addressing the question of how he and Hill collaborate and provide input on each other’s work, McGraw explained that they always seek each other’s opinion. While they may not always agree, they respect and trust each other’s artistic process. This mutual understanding allows them to give valuable feedback and contribute to each other’s music.

McGraw’s highly anticipated album, “Standing Room Only,” which he has been diligently working on for the past three years, is set to be released soon. After the unfortunate timing of his previous album during the COVID-19 pandemic, McGraw was determined to create a collection of songs that would inspire and uplift listeners. He wanted to deliver a positive message about life and the power of personal growth.

To celebrate the release of his new album, McGraw will embark on the 2024 Standing Room Only Tour, starting on March 14 in Jacksonville, Florida, and concluding on June 27 in Phoenix, Arizona. Country artist Carly Pearce will join him as the opening act for the tour.
