Brazil and the United States follow as the second and third contributors, with 22% and 16% respectively. Mexico and Japan have also made notable contributions, accounting for 8% and 5% of total downloads, respectively.
While Meta faces regulatory challenges, primarily related to privacy concerns and data collection, Threads’ popularity shows no signs of slowing down. Meta has taken steps to prevent EU users from accessing the app by blocking their IP addresses through a virtual private network (VPN). Additionally, Meta has planned various updates for Threads, including compatibility with iOS 17, an edit button similar to Twitter, support for managing multiple accounts, and a following feed.
