‘The Flash’ Dominates Box Office with an Opening Weekend of $55.1 Million

“The Flash” debuted at the top of the North American box office this weekend, raking in $55.1 million, according to industry estimates released on Sunday.

Although it claimed the weekend crown, the superhero film starring Ezra Miller and featuring Michael Keaton as Batman fell short of expectations.

Pixar’s animated adventure “Elemental” came in second with an opening weekend total of $29.5 million, as reported by Comscore.

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” secured third place with $27.8 million in its third week of release in the US and Canada.

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” earned fourth place with $20 million in its second week, followed by “The Little Mermaid” with $11.6 million in its fourth week.

The rest of the top 10 in domestic releases, according to Comscore’s estimates, included “The Blackening” ($6 million), “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” ($5 million), “The Boogeyman” ($3.8 million), “Fast X” ($2 million), and “Adipurush (TELUGU)” ($1.6 million).

The total weekend box office revenue was estimated at $167 million. The year-to-date total is $4.158 billion, marking a 23% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by Comscore.
