Tesco announced the resignation of John Allan in May due to claims of inappropriate behavior. During the transition period, Byron Grote, senior independent director, will serve as the interim chair.

In addition to stepping down as chairman of Tesco, John Allan also resigned from his position at Barratt Developments.

The resignation follows allegations of inappropriate behavior made by four women against John Allan. He maintains his innocence.
