Super Typhoon Egay: Certain Areas of Cagayan Under Signal No. 4; Potential Winds Reaching 184 kph

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 has been raised on Tuesday morning in the northeastern part of mainland Cagayan due to the powerful Super Typhoon Egay, also known as Doksuri, according to the latest bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). This signal indicates that areas in Cagayan may experience typhoon-force winds ranging from 118 kph to 184 kph within 12 hours. The eye of Super Typhoon Egay is currently located 270 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan province, with maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gustiness of 230 kph. There is a possibility that Egay may make landfall over the northern part of mainland Cagayan or the Babuyan Islands. Pagasa also raised cyclone wind signals in other areas along the path of Egay.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 has been hoisted in the following areas: Babuyan Islands, the northern and eastern parts of mainland Cagayan, the northeastern part of Isabela, and the northern part of Apayao. These areas may experience winds greater than 89 kph or up to 117 kph for at least 18 hours.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been raised in Batanes, the rest of mainland Cagayan, the rest of Isabela, Quirino, the northern part of Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and the northern part of Benguet. These areas may anticipate winds greater than 62 kph or up to 88 kph for at least 24 hours.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been declared in 25 areas, including Metro Manila. These areas may experience winds ranging from 39 kph to 61 kph or intermittent rains within 36 hours.
