Sources say 13 employees terminated as advertising agency responsible for Bud Light’s Dylan Mulvaney controversy takes action

The California marketing agency responsible for Bud Light’s ill-fated collaboration with Dylan Mulvaney has terminated over a dozen employees just days after boasting about a lavish trip to the Cannes-Lions festival in the French Riviera, according to The Post. San Mateo-based agency Captiv8 flew executives and guests on a private jet to the event, where they enjoyed luxury accommodations and attended parties. However, upon their return, CEO Krishna Subramanian fired 13 workers, leaving many feeling the timing was insensitive. Captiv8 stated that the layoffs were part of a continuous strategy and would not affect the company’s overall finances. The agency, known for its work with social media influencers, had paired Mulvaney with Bud Light for a campaign that resulted in backlash and boycotts, costing Anheuser-Busch nearly $400 million. Despite the growth of influencer marketing as a multi-billion dollar industry, the laid-off employees expressed concern about finding new jobs in the current market.
