The finale of Ahsoka begins with Morgan Elsbeth informing Grand Admiral Thrawn that the transfer of the mysterious Nightsister cargo is complete. He sends Enoch to prepare the Eye of Sion and dispatch two TIE fighters to confront Ahsoka Tano and her group.
Morgan is confident that they have defeated the Jedi, but Thrawn reminds her of the instances where the Rebellion and Jedi have triumphed over the Empire throughout the original trilogy.
Thrawn expresses his gratitude to the Nightsister Great Mothers, who, in turn, show appreciation to Morgan Elsbeth for bringing the Gift of Shadows. Morgan vows to leave behind her old life and devote herself to them. With glowing green fingers, the Great Mothers mark Morgan’s face and summon a swirling vortex of green magic.
The smoke clears, revealing the Blade of Talzin, a nod to Mother Talzin, the leader of the Nightsisters in The Clone Wars. They present Morgan with the blade, which emanates emerald flames, as the final title card appears:
“Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord.”
On their ship overlooking the nomadic Noti, Ezra Bridger is attempting to construct a lightsaber. The droid Professor Huyang scolds him, emphasizing that the process cannot be rushed.
Sabine stands in the doorway, reminiscing about Kanan, who taught Ezra how to build a lightsaber. Huyang clarifies that he taught Kanan, giving him the best knowledge to assist Ezra. Huyang provides one lightsaber piece to Ezra, while the other belonged to Kanan. With these parts, Ezra completes his saber and ignites his new blue blade.
After Sabine walks away, Huyang briefs Ezra on Sabine’s experiences, her training with Ahsoka, and the tragedy her family endured on Mandalore.
Sabine finds Ahsoka, and they have a conversation about the Padawan’s decision to give Baylan Skoll the star map in a previous episode. Ahsoka accepts Sabine’s apology, expressing that she has also made difficult choices and that Anakin always stood by her. Therefore, she chooses to support Sabine and her choices.
At that moment, Thrawn’s TIE fighters arrive and disable their ship. However, Sabine skillfully maneuvers and eliminates the TIEs, saving the Noti people they are protecting. Unfortunately, their ship sustains damage and becomes inoperable. Ahsoka remains undeterred.
Enoch reports to Thrawn, and the Grand Admiral proceeds with a ground assault.
Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine mount howlers while Huyang stays with the Noti to repair the ship.
Morgan now commands a group of volunteer Night Troopers, whom she deploys into battle. She assures Thrawn that they will fight for him, but he corrects her, stating that they fight for the Empire, not him.
The heroes locate the Eye of Sion. After a final interaction with Huyang, who urges them not to wait for him, they proceed. Thrawn awaits their arrival, and the turbolasers from the Chimaera rain down upon them.
The Jedi race on their howlers toward the front gate, utilizing the Force to slip inside. They are met with a massive wave of Night Troopers, whom they swiftly defeat.
However, this is not the end. The Nightsisters showcase their unique abilities, just as they did in The Clone Wars:
They resurrect the fallen Night Troopers, turning them into zombie troopers. Now our heroes must battle these undead soldiers, relentlessly attacking them with lightsabers. They manage to lock the zombie troopers behind a door and press onward.
Thrawn requests more time from Morgan, who accepts the responsibility in the name of Dathomir.
In a rematch from The Mandalorian, Ahsoka confronts Morgan. Meanwhile, Sabine and Ezra progress, encountering their own zombie troopers to overcome.
Thrawn positions himself on the Eye of Sion alongside the Great Mothers, and they begin targeting the ship.
Sabine, pinned down by a zombie trooper, reaches out to her fallen lightsaber…
And for the first time, she employs the Force to call it toward her! She eliminates her final opponent, and together with Ezra, they vanquish the remaining troopers. However, they are too late to board the ship.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka faces a barrage of blaster fire as more Night Troopers swarm the room where she duels with Morgan. Pushed back, Ahsoka’s situation becomes precarious.
Although Ezra doubts he can make the Force jump, Sabine is confident in her newfound ability to launch him across the vast distance. Ezra places his trust in her and leaps, managing to grab hold and pull himself up.
Sabine spots Ahsoka emerging on the roof, still engaged in combat. During the battle, Morgan shatters one of Ahsoka’s sabers. A momentary break occurs as the Chimeara departs.
Surprisingly, Sabine reveals that she did not join Ezra, drawing her own blade to confront her master. With a decisive strike, Ahsoka defeats Morgan Elsbeth.
As Ahsoka and Sabine make their escape, Thrawn opens fire on the castle they are on. They jump off the side, and Huyang swoops in just in time to rescue them. Soaring through the sky, they pursue the Eye of Sion.
Thrawn contacts Ahsoka’s ship and credits Anakin’s teachings for his victory. With a final declaration of “Long live the Empire,” he jumps into hyperspace, causing damage to Ahsoka’s starship. Importantly, Ezra remains aboard the Eye of Sion.
Sabine, Ahsoka, and Huyang return to the Noti, who are elated to see them.
Shin Hati arrives with the bandits she has battled alongside before, igniting her lightsaber.
Baylan Skoll discovers one of the statues on the planet, depicting the Father, one of the Gods of Mortis, representing Balance in the Force. To the statue’s right stands the Brother, the embodiment of the dark side, while the shattered remains of the Sister, the representation of the light side, lie to the left. Baylan gazes out at the land before him.
The Eye of Sion arrives back in the known galaxy, approaching the planet of Dathomir.
In the New Republic, an Imperial shuttle lands. Hera Syndulla, Chopper, and her troops await in the hangar bay. The shuttle door opens, revealing a stormtrooper who removes his helmet to reveal Ezra. Overwhelmed with emotion, Hera reunites with her long-lost crew member.
Sabine joins Ahsoka, who commends her Padawan for bringing Ezra home. Ahsoka declares that they are now where they need to be and that it is time to move on.
Sabine senses something, but brushes it off. The show concludes with Anakin’s Force ghost watching over his former Padawan, bringing Ahsoka to a close.
