Shocking Nightclub Fire in Spain: Murcia Firefighters Share Disturbing Video of Tragic Incident Claiming 13 Lives

A devastating nightclub fire in Spain’s city of Murcia has resulted in the tragic loss of at least 13 lives. Firefighters, who valiantly battled the blaze, captured and shared their heroic efforts on social media.

Rescue teams are actively searching for individuals who remain unaccounted for after the fire erupted in the adjoining clubs in Atalayas, located on the outskirts of the city in southeast Spain, during the early hours of Sunday morning.

“We managed to escape just 30 seconds to 1 minute before the alarms sounded, plunging the venue into darkness, and the horrifying screams of fire engulfed the atmosphere,” recounted an unidentified survivor to Reuters. “Sadly, five family members and two friends are currently missing.”

Among the three interconnected clubs, Fonda Milagros nightclub suffered the most extensive fire damage, with its roof collapsing. This area was also where the deceased victims were found, as stated by Diego Seral of Spain’s National Police.

With the collapse impeding rescue efforts and investigations, the exact origin of the fire remains unknown. Maria Dolores Albellan, a spokeswoman for Teatre nightclub, informed reporters that the fire ignited in Fonda Milagros before spreading to the two adjacent clubs.

A video released by Murcia’s firefighters reveals their bravery as they battle the blazing inferno within a bar. The footage portrays the wreckage caused by the collapsed roof and thick smoke obstructing visibility.

Identification of the victims is expected to take time, as authorities diligently investigate the cause of this devastating fire. Throughout the day, the death toll continues to rise.

The fire, which reportedly began at 6 a.m., has since been brought under control.

Four individuals have been hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
