Actor Tenoch Huerta, known for his role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” has decided to step down from an upcoming Netflix film in order to prioritize “restoring my reputation” following an allegation of sexual assault. Saxophonist María Elena Ríos accused Huerta of being “an abuser, manipulator, and sexual predator” in recent tweets, and also accused the organization Poder Prieto, which fights against racism in the film industry, of protecting him due to his role as spokesperson. Huerta claimed that Elena mischaracterized their interactions after their relationship ended, both in private and in front of mutual friends. Ríos responded a week later and addressed Huerta’s defense. She argued that despite the initial consensual nature of their relationship, removing a condom without consent is a crime known as stealthing, which constitutes sexual assault. This statement from Ríos prompted Huerta to withdraw from the film “Fiesta en la Madriguera.” The production was scheduled to begin filming on June 15, according to Deadline.
