Ryan Murphy, Creator of American Horror Story, Departs Netflix for Disney

Famed television writer and producer Ryan Murphy is reportedly leaving Netflix to join Walt Disney, according to an exclusive report by Bloomberg News. This move comes as Murphy, known for creating hit series like “Glee,” “9-1-1,” “American Horror Story,” and “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” negotiates a new deal with Disney.

In 2018, Murphy left Fox to sign a five-year deal with Netflix worth up to $300 million. His new agreement with Disney comes at a time when streaming companies are fiercely competing for original content to attract subscribers and stand out in the crowded market.
