Russian Tanker Hit by Ukrainian Drones: Russia Vows Retaliation

Russia has vowed to retaliate after Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian tanker in the Black Sea near Crimea. This is the second sea attack involving drones in one day, with Ukraine previously striking a major Russian port. Moscow has strongly condemned these actions and promised to punish those responsible. The Black Sea has become a significant battleground as Kyiv’s naval capabilities grow. Three weeks ago, Russia withdrew from an export agreement allowing Ukraine to ship grain across the Black Sea, resulting in repeated strikes on Ukrainian ports. The attack on the Russian tanker was carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service and involved a sea drone filled with TNT. The attack caused damage to the tanker but there were no casualties. Moscow has warned that it may target Ukrainian ports in response. Meanwhile, a summit aimed at finding a peaceful settlement to the conflict has begun in Saudi Arabia, with around 40 countries participating. Although Russia is not present, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for providing a platform for negotiations. Russian officials have criticized the summit, stating that decisions on the conflict should involve Moscow.
