Reports: Wingsuit Skydiver in France Tragically Decapitated by Aircraft’s Wing Just Moments After Jump

According to reports, a wingsuit skydiver, who had completed over 225 jumps, tragically lost his life after being decapitated by the wing of an airplane just 20 seconds after jumping from the aircraft over South France in July 2018.

The pilot’s manslaughter trial is currently taking place in Montauban, France, and testimony provided during the trial has shed light on the incident, as reported by the Times of London.

Testimony has revealed that Nicholas Galy, a 40-year-old experienced skydiver, was one of two individuals who jumped from a single-engine Pilatus airplane at an altitude of around 14,000 feet above the town of Bouloc-en-Quercy.

The pilot, identified only as 64-year-old Alain C, rapidly descended in an attempt to catch up with the skydivers as they glided through the air.

Tragically, as the plane caught up with the skydivers, one of the wings struck Galy, resulting in his decapitation, according to the report.

Galy’s body was found in a field after his emergency parachute was deployed.
