Christine Baumgartner, Costner’s former partner, has relocated to a smaller house on the compound that is typically used for staff quarters, according to a report from People.
Baumgartner was required to vacate Costner’s main home by July 31, as per the court order. At present, she is residing in the guest house on a temporary basis.
According to People, this move is only temporary as the couple intends to keep their three children in the same schools when fall arrives. U-Haul moving trucks were seen at the Santa Barbara compound, as reported by Page Six last week.
While requesting more time to move out, Baumgartner cited the scarcity and high cost of rental properties in Santa Barbara as part of her argument. Major rulings were issued in their acrimonious divorce case just last month.
Recent court documents revealed disputes between the couple over which kitchen items Baumgartner could take with her. Additionally, Costner’s legal team alleged that Baumgartner planned her departure by making expensive purchases, highlighting the contentious nature of the feud.
Baumgartner filed for divorce in May, challenging the terms of their premarital agreement. In July, a judge ruled that Costner must pay nearly $130,000 per month in child support until the divorce is finalized.
Initially, Baumgartner’s lawyers sought monthly child support payments of $248,000 but later revised the request to $217,300. They emphasized the luxurious lifestyle to which the children were accustomed and pointed out Costner’s substantial earnings of $19.5 million last year.
Costner has sought joint custody of the children. Lawyers representing Baumgartner and Costner have not yet responded to Insider’s request for comment.
