June 20 (UPI) — According to Amazon, the latest additions to Prime Video, “My Fault” and “Medellín,” have made history as the top non-English originals on the platform.

Prime Video released a press statement on Tuesday, announcing that “My Fault,” a Spanish teenage romance, and “Medellín,” a French action-comedy, have become the biggest non-English language local original titles to reach a global audience in the platform’s history.

Both movies were launched on Prime Video within the past two weeks, covering an impressive 240 countries and territories.

“My Fault,” which debuted on June 8, achieved the largest global launch for a non-English language movie in the history of Prime Video. The film dominated the worldwide charts during its opening weekend and has since maintained its position among the Top 10 most-watched titles in over 190 countries.

Based on the “Culpables” book trilogy by Mercedes Ron, “My Fault” is directed by Domingo González and explores the forbidden romance between teenagers Noah (Nicole Wallace) and her stepbrother Nick (Gabriel Guevara).

Released on June 2, “Medellín” witnessed the second-largest launch of a non-English language movie on Prime Video. Directed by Franck Gastambide, the film revolves around Reda (Ramzy Bedia), a boxing gym manager who embarks on a mission to rescue his kidnapped brother, Brahim (Brahim Bouhlel), during a trip to Columbia.

Both titles have garnered a significant international viewership, with over 75% of their audience hailing from outside their respective countries.
