In the opening scene of season two of “The Wheel of Time,” the audience is transported to a mysterious building at night. Throughout Nynaeve’s trials, the Crimsonthorn root, a deadly herb, recurs in both the past and present realities she experiences. This root was previously shown while Nynaeve was being introduced to the wonders of the Aes Sedai. The Red Ajah, a group within the Aes Sedai, also plays a recurring role in Nynaeve’s trials.
