Recap of Season 2, Episode 9 of “And Just Like That”

Upon witnessing this steamy sex scene, I couldn’t help but holler in excitement. “Get it, Nya!” It’s refreshing to see her engaging in pleasure and enjoying herself. However, can you imagine the shock of seeing your ex on Instagram with not only a new partner but also expecting a baby? Absolutely not. And was that woman the same artist he was assisting with her music? No way. I’m intrigued to see how this situation unfolds. By the way, can we bring back Gary Dourdan for Nya? Recently, I’ve been longing for Nya’s presence in the show. I’m thrilled that they brought her back with a bang (pun intended). I burst out laughing when she realized that it was acceptable to have shameless phone conversations in bed after having sex with her hookup. However, it was heartbreaking to see her discover that Andre Rashad (LeRoy McClain) is expecting a child with another woman, especially after their struggles with fertility. I hope this marks the beginning of an intriguing storyline for Nya. – Lydia

In previous episodes, one of our common complaints was the lack of sexual content. Therefore, it was gratifying to witness this episode with an evident increase in storylines involving our beloved characters engaging in casual and enjoyable sexual encounters. I have often emphasized the importance of including these amazing women of color in the revival, and it’s great to finally see them involved in meaningful plots. Additionally, it’s important for the show to capture the essence of the original series. The inclusion of Nya and Seema in this episode successfully achieves that. Moreover, the fact that Andre has immediately moved on and is expecting a child with his new girlfriend is disheartening for Nya. Unfortunately, it aligns with the behavior of many terrible men we’ve seen in this franchise. – Marina
