Researchers have observed that Fourth of July celebrations typically contribute to a 40% increase in fine particulate pollution, exacerbating respiratory symptoms in individuals with respiratory problems. Boulder officials justified their decision to replace traditional fireworks with drones by citing the increased fire risk associated with climate change.
